I began this project with the idea of doing instrumental arrangements of some of my favorite “classical” pieces,
especially melodies of some of the so called impressionistic composers. As I was working on some of the tunes, I
encountered singer Rachael Tissot and decided to have her sing a song or two. Impressed with her voice it turned
into four songs.
As we waited for the rights to use the words to “Morning has Broken” I encouraged her to write her own words which
she sings here to the beautiful Gaelic hymn called “Bunessan”.
I was very proud of my arrangement of the traditional tune “Scarborough Fair” and was even happier with her beautiful
four-part vocal interpretation.
I had recorded “Alita” (written for my wife) on an earlier CD. In that version, I had not played the song but had
used some of my musical friends. Here is my own rendition of the song.
I played acoustic and electric guitars, flute, bass and arranged and played all the string parts on a guitar synthesizer.
In today’s fast-paced, noisy world, I make no apologies for recording an entire CD of simply slow, beautiful melodies
that I hope you can enjoy with your morning coffee or your morning commute.
